Norbury House, Friar Street, Droitwich, UK
The Norbury Theatre is an intimate 176-seat art deco style venue that hosts amateur and professional plays, musicals, concerts, stand-up comedy and film.
Before it became a theatre the building formerly hosted a luxury 5-star hotel that closed during the second world war; in the 60s The Droitwich Theatre and Arts Club converted what used to be its dining room into an auditorium and it has been 100% volunteer-run by the friendly and passionate group ever since. The Norbury Theatre’s first production was pantomime Man in the Moon which took to the stage in 1963. More recent productions include Legally Blonde and The Addams Family Musical.
If you visi in the evening, pop into one of the Friar Street’s traditional pubs such as The Old Cock in or Hop Pole Inn for a drink beforehand.
