Sarah Spencer and Jeff Barnhart (USA) performed together many years ago and this is an opportunity for them to rekindle some of those memories and provide us with an evening’s entertainment of New Orleans tunes and jazz standards.

Sarah is described as ‘one of the exciting, new young breed of traditional jazz players and the hottest tenor saxophonist on the jazz today, ‘Sarah’s creed has always been to ‘play it Hot and Dirty’. Sarah started playing the clarinet at the age of 8 and the tenor sax at 15, later taking up the baritone, alto and soprano saxophones. She started playing on the British traditional jazz scene at 18; was the youngest visitor to play in Preservation Hall, New Orleans at 19; and formed the first of her own bands at 20.

Sarah is joined by a host of other exceptional jazz musicians, including Jeff on tour from the USA. His versatility, vast repertoire, and vibrant energy, make Jeff in constant demand as a participant in international jazz and music events.

Mike Henry has played with the Chris Barber Band, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, and recently he accompanied Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music on his tours of Europe.

Mike Owen, Tom ‘Spats’ Langham, Malcolm Sked, Graham Smith are all very firm favourites of the Pershore Jazz Club audience.
