Visitors to Droitwich Spa are in for a blooming good time with the launch of the town’s new Droitiwch In Bloom trail.

Five floral creations, each with their own theme, have been installed around the town for visitors to hunt out and enjoy. People are encouraged to pose with the pieces and share their photos on Facebook and Instagram by tagging @ValeandSpa and #DroitwichInBloom.

The five designs people can look out for are:

  1. ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ bench which can be found in Lido Park.
  2. ‘Strike a pose’, a photo frame in Gurney’s Lane (10am-4pm, Tuesday-Saturday) ‘Salinae’, a roman helmet in St Richard’s Heritage Centre aka the Tourism Information Centre (10am-4pm, Monday-Thursday)
  3. ‘Say it with flowers’, a heart frame in St Andrew’s Shopping Sqaure aka the shopping centre. (8am-6pm everyday except Sunday 10:30am-4pm)
  4. ‘Hanging around’ wisteria in St Andrew’s Shopping Sqaure.

The trail has been created and funded by Wychavon Distirct Council with the help of two local florists, Bluebells Florist, and Flowers of Elegance, who have brought the designs to life.

The artificial (but very real-looking!) trail will be available to enjoy until 6 June 2022. Please note the floral frame may need to come down on Wednesday 1 June but the others will remain up until the 6th.

Cllr Richard Morris, Executive Board Member for Economic Growth and Tourism on Wychavon District Council, said: “The floral displays are beautiful and make a lovely addition to the town and I’m pleased we have been able to work with local florists to put on this display. I encourage everyone to come and enjoy the trail, strike a pose with friends and family and to share your pictures with pride.”
