Author Ruth Hogan was brought up in a house full of books her mother worked in a bookshop and grew up with an unsurprising passion for reading and writing. Becoming a writer was one of a long list of possible future careers. She studied English and Drama at Goldsmith’s College and then found herself working in local government for ten years.

Life then threw a couple of curved balls at Ruth but they proved the push for her to start writing seriously. Her first novel, The Keeper of Lost Things, proved to be a bestselling debut novel, which was a Richard and Judy Book Club pick. Three further novels have followed. As a full-time author, Ruth feels lucky to be living the dream.
