36 Morris Sides and 500 Morris Dancers from all across England are descending on a place near you! Genres include: Border, Cotswold, Mumming, Molly Dancing, Northwest and Rapper.
Festivities include:
Dancing at various times in and around the Vale of Evesham at:
o Worcester, Evesham, Broadway, Droitwich, Feckenham in Worcestershire.
o Tewkesbury, Toddington and Chipping Campden in Gloucestershire.
o Warwick, Stratford on Avon, Alcester, Ardens Grafton and Ilmington in Warwickshire
• Informal music and song sessions on Saturday evening at Evesham Rowing Club, the Red Lion, Evesham and the Fleece Inn, Bretforton
• A Ceilidh on the Friday evening from 8.00pm by the nationally acclaimed Banter, and show dances by one of our Morris sides.
• A church service at All Saints Church, Market Place on the Sunday at 10.00am with dancing by one of the Morris Sides
• Procession of 25 Sides from Abbey Park, along Bridge Street to Market Place at 11.30am on the Sunday
• Presentation of the Evesham Stick by the Mayor, to the Side that has best demonstrated the spirit of the Morris
• Dancing in Market Place and Evesham Town throughout the afternoon.
In addition, a Quarter Peal will be rung from Evesham Bell Tower by members of the Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers at 6.00pm on the Saturday, marking the end of the first day of the weekend.
