1. Christmas Light Switch On, ‘Busker of The Year’ competition and pantomime taster

When: 12pm – 6pm, Saturday 25 November

Get into the festive spirit with Droitwich Spa’s Christmas Light Switch On in Victoria Square.

Once again, the Santa’s Grotto, has kindly been provided by Droitwich Lions Club – this will be in the Heritage Centre at St Richard’s House.

You can expect a fun fair in Victoria Square as well as Worcestershire Farmers Market, who, together with seasonal stalls, will provide something special for Christmas shoppers.

There will be a Community Advent Celebration at 4.30pm in St Andrew’s Church, along with performances from the Salvation Army Band, ENTW9 children’s dance display, SB Danceworks performance, Tarantara choir performance and a John Hemminge 400th Anniversary Tribute.

This is all leading up to the traditional countdown and lights switch on which kicks off at 6pm. The lights will be switched on by Santa and the Mayor, Cllr Kate Fellows.

Wychavon District Council’s pay and display car parks will be free of charge from 12pm.

The event has been organised by Droitwich Town Council.

To accompany the switch on, Droitwich Spa Business Association has organised street food stalls, a ‘busker of the year’ competition in Saltbarrow off the High Street and a pantomime taster in association with The Norbury Theatre in the Gurney’s Lane (in between Waitrose and the High Street). 

Buskers are encouraged to attend throughout the day and the “best” busker will be awarded with a prize and a set at next year’s Salt Festival! 

The food stalls include koftas, kebabs, jacket potatoes and more. This and and the buskers competition is on from 9am until 7pm. The pantomime taster is, in association with the Norbury Theatre, will take place in Gurney’s Lane between 4pm and 4.30pm. 

Droitwich Coffee Culture will be offering free mini hot chocolate shots to enjoy during the short production.

2. The Enchanted Gardens at Webbs

When: Friday 17 November – Wednesday 3 January

Webbs’ Enchanted Gardens is a magical experience waiting to be explored with a trail that follows the stories of Peter Pan and friends in Neverland. Brought to life through a mixture of stunning lighting, giant lanterns, projections, and enchanting sounds.

‘Fly’ out of the nursery window with Wendy, John, and Michael, across the London skyline to Neverland!

Dive into a watery world at Mermaid’s Lagoon as you ‘swim’ alongside the mermaids.

Tread lightly at Pirate’s Creek or expect to be made to walk the plank!

Venture deep into the woods, stopping off at the fearless Tiger Lily’s camp before enjoying a delicious, imaginary meal at Wendy’s House.

Join the Lost Children around the fire and peek into Tinkerbell’s tiny house, but be on your guard for Captain Hook may be lurking nearby!

3. Dine in an Igloo

When: Saturday 18 November – Wednesday 3 January

Snuggle up pre or post-light trail with your family and friends, in your own private Webbs Hygge Igloo! (Light trail tickets must be purchased separately)

The cosy Igloos are situated in the festoon-lit gardens by the river and seat up to 6 guests per pod. Enjoy a glass of fizz on arrival before tucking into their festive smorgasboards!

4. Festive Afternoon Tea with the Swingettes

When: Wednesday 22 and 29 November, Thursday 30 November, Tuesday 5 and Thursday 7 December (seating will be at 4pm).

Webbs at Wychbold are hosting a festive afternoon tea party with The Swingettes! Wearing vintage costumes, red lipstick and singing your favourite Christmas songs, this lively trio will entertain you while you enjoy the indulgent seasonal afternoon tea filled with an abundance of many different yummy snacks.

6. Christmas at Churchfields

7. Christmas at Hanbury Hall

When: Saturday 25 November – Sunday 7 January 2024

Take a trip down memory lane this year with Christmas at Hanbury Hall where you can go through a nostalgic trip to the late-20th-century, inspired by the rumours of the wild house parties held at the hall in the 70s and 80s.

Hanbury Hall will be open daily from 10am – 4pm with the last entries at 3:45pm.

8. Christmas Wreath Workshop

When: Monday 4 December starting between 6.30pm and 7 pm

Join the Droitwich Rugby Club in a Christmas Wreath-making Workshop where you can create your own personalised Christmas decoration.  The session is £25 per person which will include a mince pie and a glass of prosecco or mulled wine.
