Pershore is a beautiful Georgian town set in the heart of Worcestershire’s Vale & Spa. It boasts an array of unique shops and award-winning, independent eateries. Not only is it brilliant all year round but it’s fabulous at Christmas time too! Here are 8 wonderful things you can see and do in the town this Christmas.   

1. The Gallery’s Late-Night Art Events

When: 6pm-8:30pm, various dates

Where: The Gallery, WR10 1EU

The Gallery will be hosting several late-night events before Christmas and is open on Sundays throughout November and December. These fantastic evening events will exhibit artists’ work and the artist will be available to talk to attendees about their new work, style and inspirations within a relaxed and sociable space.

  • Friday 26 November – Meet the Artist Evening – presenting Pershore Acrylic Artist Di Shorleson
  • Friday 3 December – The Galleries Arts Awareness Programme – introducing ‘Pershore Arts’
  • Friday 17 December – The Galleries Mulled Wine and Prosecco Evening

2. Christmas Light Switch On

When: 3pm onwards, 27 November

Where: St Andrews Gardens, Pershore

While there won’t be stalls or a Christmas Fayre the light switch on this year, you and the kids can meet Santa and his reindeer and enjoy carols by Pershore Town Choir and Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society

Parking will be free on the day in all Wychavon pay and display car parks from 2pm

3. Cocktail Masterclass

When: anytime

Where: The Angel Hotel, WR10 1AF

Hosted in The Angel’s private dining room with one of their trained mixologists, you and 5 friends could enjoy an evening learning how to make your very own cocktails. You’ll even get to indulge on our sharing platters created by our Head Chef, Tyron all for £30 per person!

Cocktail masterclasses can be held any day of the week that best suits you and your friends.

4. Free Christmas Roadshow

When: 4 December

Where: Chapman Court, Pershore

Our Christmas roadshow will be visiting Chapman Court in Pershore on 4 December. There will be Christmas music, giant games including Connect 4 and Jenga as well as the opportunity for you to test your skills on the rodeo reindeer or rodeo Christmas pudding.

You can also grab a festive snap with friends in the photobooth, which comes complete with props, as well as enjoy delicious candy floss and popcorn and all free of charge.

Whatever the weather on the day, it is guaranteed there will be some white stuff thanks to the snow machine.

These roadshows are part of Wychavon District Council’s Be Curious this Christmas campaign which is encouraging people to explore the local businesses they have on their doorstep. It also highlights the important role they play in community life.

A series of videos have been produced telling the personal stories of local business owners and their passion for what they do. Check them out. The campaign also highlights the fact that by shopping local, people are backing local people and supporting the place where they live.

5. Shop in Pershore

If you’re looking for the perfect gift to buy your loved one, consider shopping in Pershore. It’s home to a range of fabulous, unique independent shops such as:

Land & Limey – ladies lifestyle clothing and accessories store. Brands include White Stuff, Sea Salt and Weird Fish.

The Smart Exchange – ladies boutique selling pre-loved designer-wear, accessories and wedding attire.

Nellies – new fabric shop offering a wide selection of dressmaking and quilting fabrics, yarn, haberdashery, patterns and kits.

6. Choir performance

When: 7pm-10pm. Friday 10 December

Where: Pershore Abbey, WR10 1BL

Get into the Christmas spirit with Worcester Male Voice Choir.  They will be back at Pershore Abbey with their programme of carols. Tickets start from £5. To book tickets, call 01386 553391.

7. Christmas with André Rieu

When: 2pm, 17 December or 7pm, 23 December (approx. 2h 30 minutes long)

Where: Number 8, WR10 1BG

The King of the Waltz brings you a festive spectacular recorded at his newly created Winter Palace in his hometown of Maastricht. Immerse yourself in the spirit of the season while singing along to lovely Christmas carols, romantic waltzes and beautiful melodies like Jingle Bells, O Holy Night, Hallelujah, a show-stopping performance of Walking in the Air and many more! 8. Festive afternoon tea

When: 12.30pm and 4pm, 18-20 December

Where: Holland House, WR10 3NB

Tuck into the festive cheer with Holland House’s special afternoon tea. Tables can sit up to six people so bring your family or friends with you.

9. Post your letter to Santa via a talking post box

When: 6 – 19 December

Where: Pershore Library, Church St, Pershore WR10 1DT

We’ve teamed up with Free Radio Herefordshire & Worcestershire to bring a talking post box to Pershore, where kids can post their letters to Santa. If your child’s letter is read our on-air, they may be in with a chance of winning prizes. More info will be released soon so watch this space.
