Much has been written about the famous Mitford sisters. In this talk, by retired journalist, Di Alexander, we learn more about ‘The Other Mitford’ (Pamela Jackson, nee Mitford). Despite shunning the bright city lights that her sisters so desperately craved, she had many wild adventures of her own and was very much involved in the activities of her extraordinary family, often picking up the pieces when things went wrong. Di Alexander was a friend of Pamela for many years. In her book, ‘The Other Mitford: Pamela’s Story’, she tells a captivating story, which has never been told before, of ‘Gentle Pamela’ as her lifelong admirer John Betjeman described her.

The Friends Meeting House is a lovely setting for this talk. Enjoy tea, scones and cake after the event in the beautiful and peaceful garden. Tickets £8
