The town certainly has a soft spot for food, and for good reason – the Droitwich Spa Food & Drink Festival is officially the “Best Event in Worcestershire” having won its category in the Visit Worcestershire Awards for Excellence!
Taking place this year on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 June, the Lido park-based event comprises of a plethora of food & drink stalls; a cookery demonstration kitchen; cookery competitions; entertainment; and a kids zone. The delightful park setting allows for a wonderful, enjoyable experience.
Foodie fans should be sure to also visit the town centre’s restaurants for a fabulous meal… that’s if you can stomach it!
Droitwich Spa benefits from a naturally occurring brine spring. When the brine is extracted and heated, it produces a very pure salt. The town celebrates this historical connection with salt through its annual Salt Fest – taking place on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September.
Not only can you purchase the 2017-launched Droitwich Salt and associated products at the event, but visitors also have the thrill of experiencing a Roman camp. There is evidence that the town had Roman occupation – it was known as “Salinae” meaning “Salt Works”.
A weekend of live music, activities, stalls and entertainment throughout the town welcomes crowds to this unique celebration of a 100% natural product.
