Pershore Jazz on a Summer’s Day

Join us for a full day of exceptional jazz in Pershore Number 8 Arts and Theatre Centre. Seventeen top class musicians play Classic, Vintage and Swing Jazz with six themed sessions celebrating the music of iconic jazz royalty.

Harry Evans brings the sound of Duke Ellington’s small groups, Cia Tomasso sings numbers from Billie Holiday Lady Day and Ella Fitzgerald The Queen. Chris Lowe’s Forest Hill Owls will immerse us in the red hot jazz of the 20s and 30s, and the ever popular Thomas Spats Langham regales us with tales and songs of the jazz nobility.

More timeless swing legends appear courtesy of Elise Roth and her Harvard Squares and the show climaxes with a Grand Finale, “On the Air”, delivered by the eleven piece Michael McQuaid Swing Orchestra.

All presented by classic jazz guru Jonathan Holmes of BBC Bristol.
